  • We have the date and place set for the next meetup.  Pizza and soda will be provided.  We are looking into alcohol.
The September Meetup seemed to go well with a lot of great contributions from members of the group.  Please post and let us know if you want to do that again or if you think another format would work.

  • We are super excited to announce that on, November 2, CCCKC and Union Station Maker Space will run our first End of Summer Game Hack Jam at the Maker studio from 10:00am to 3pm (with free lunch!).
The goal is learn from mentors skills about programming, game design and other relevant skills and then have open design time to create and play-test your own games. By the end of the open design time, participants hopefully will have developed a playable prototype of a game.
This isn't centered around just technology, we want to create a melting pot for all skill levels, to create a space where even non-developers can get involved in the development process.
It is up to each team to design, develop and build their prototype but as with any CCCK event I am certain there will be more then enough talent in the room to help.
Should we run out of space to accommodate everybody who wants to participate, those who register first will get priority.
We are looking for mentors, instructors and attendees and depending on who signs up maybe we'll even have a class or two :)

If you haven't registered already for your tickets to the St. Louis Days of .NET 2013, it is not too late.  But HURRY, because you are running out of time!  Our special "Early Bird" pricing ends this Saturday, October 12 - no exceptions.  This means that the chance for incredible $200 tickets to the conference will no longer be available after this week.  We expect to welcome over 1,000 people in attendance this year, and have already received several hundred registrations.  Remember that your all-in-one ticket to the event includes access to:

    ·      Over 130 technical sessions on Friday (11/15) and Saturday (11/16)

    ·      Vendor fair featuring nearly 50 local and national companies

    ·      Thursday (11/14) night pre-party and jam at the Bottleneck Blues Bar

    ·      Friday night social networking event at HOME Nightclub

    ·      Great, newly revamped Open Spaces opportunities

    ·      Breakfast and lunch for two days during the conference

Beyond the core event, for a nominal extra fee, there are also opportunities to attend one of our six pre-compiler workshops on Thursday, Nov. 14.  These deep dive sessions provide eight full hours of expert instruction on one major topic, including ASP.NET MVC, mobile services, Visual Studio TFS, and others.  Plus, if you are coming from out of town, we have secured a block of discounted rooms at both the Ameristar's own hotel, and also at the nearby Country Inn and Suites, so rest assured you'll have somewhere to stay.

If you haven't been back to our site recently, go check out our session list.  We have now selected and published the majority of our sessions, including 116 talks from 77 outstanding speakers.  This year, we will be featuring presenters from as far away as San Diego and Redmond, New York, and even London!  Not to mention a number of speakers from right here in the St. Louis area.

Don't miss out on the St. Louis area's premier professional education and networking event for .NET and Web developers.  Head over to our registration site and sign up today!

We'll be in the UX Lab. Tell security you there here for a UG meeting.
  • Have you been doing some amazing work? Want to show it off to your peers? Yep, it is demo night again! All the KC groups have demo night 2 times a year. You don't have to do a demo, but we are all friends here.
    Here is how it works:
    - come with paper, an application, a prototype, a case study, really whatever you have been working on so hard this year you would like a chance to show off.
    - each person has 10 minutes to demo.
    - we drink, eat and have some fun.
At the end of the night we play Roshambo (Rock/Paper/Scissors) for a 1 year subscription for Adobe's Creative Cloud with tons of UI and UX related tools!
